In Loving Memory of Archie Maughan Darley

Our dear husband, dad and grandfather, Archie Maughan Darley, returned home to his Father in Heaven on Oct. 30, 2007, at the age of 86. He was born Oct. 2, 1921, to William Gunnell and Martha (Mattie) Maughan Darley in Wellsville, Utah. He was raised on the family farm where he learned the value of hard work and the importance of family. Archie loved sports, including football, track and baseball, but his true love was fast pitch softball. He pitched successfully for many teams over the years, concluding his career by being inducted into the Utah Softball Hall of Fame. Archie served in the Philippines during World War II, receiving many honors including the Purple Heart. He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as a High Priest. He worked for 17 years at the DDO in Ogden and retired in 1968. He enjoyed gardening, golfing and fishing. He also enjoyed singing and was a member of the Wellsville Church and Civic Choir. He was dedicated to his community and had served on the Wellsville City Council. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirlee Stauffer; children, Marsha (Dean) Brenchley of Centerville, Utah, Brenda (David) Leishman of Wellsville, Cindee (Ross) Jensen of West Valley City, Utah, Elizabeth (Jack) Snodgress of Taylorsville, Utah, and Nanette (Scott) Davis of North Ogden, Utah; a brother, Reed Maughan Darley of Wellsville; 22 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister, William M., John Lynn, Don Frank and Mary Joyce. We love and miss you Daddy. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at the Wellsville Stake Center, 30 S. Center. Friends and family may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center Street, Logan, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at the stake center prior to services. Interment will be in the Wellsville Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion. Condolences may be shared with the family at http://www.allenmortuaries.net/. Hi Jeff and Jennie and Jackson

I hadn't checked the blog for quite some time. Checked it tonight and was pleasantly surprised! These pictures are so cute! I will try and take some at Grandpa Darley's birthday on Tuesday and post them. We are going to drive up to Wellsville after work and have cake and ice cream with them.

A day at the coast

Jeff and I went to Seaside yesterday for the sole purpose of flying Jeff's new stunt kite. But, ever since Jeff bought his kite there has been no wind, very rare, especially at the coast!! Poor Jeff, he was so bummed! But, it was one of the nicest days we have spent on the coast, very warm, blue sky, and no wind, so we couldn't complain!

At Marsha and Dean's Farewell

Hi Everyone!

After our little tutorial last Sunday, I expect everyone to be checking the blog! It was so good to see everyone. Thanks to Marsha and Dean for all of their hospitality! We will miss them. But it is only a year and, it would be a good excuse to go the Rochester, New York.

We are excited to announce that we are having a baby boy! We just had our 20 week ultrasound today and so far everything looks good.

Saturday visit to Grandma and Grandpa Greats

Jaimee and the kids and I went to visit the new addition. Suzie is so cute! Kaeden was very skeptical but Malia loved the goats! Here are some pics. Nan, thanks for the one you posted. You must have got there just as she was born.

Today Lindsay and I visited the newest member of the Darley clan - Dad's goat Sadie had a baby! So tiny and cute. Lindsay has a photo of it on her cell phone. I don't know if we have the capability to post it or not. If y'all get a chance, go see the kid soon before it gets too big!

Marithe` and Her Friends

It looks like Marithe` has found some friends! She pulled up in between them all on her own. It reminds me of the scene in the movie ET where ET is sitting with all of the stuffed animals. Tortoises are awesome.
